6-8 months ago I discovered a loose front pinion nut. I wonder if it happened then. This axle and gear set was also under the XJ for a year before it died. So It has given me some good life.

A new radiator and fan for the buggy and MotoBilt highline fenders and fender inserts for the YJ.

So, I decided to change my front diff cover and check the gear oil in it. It was very black and sparkles in it. I found these in the bottom of the diff. Looks like the pinion decided to lose a little of its teeth. Fortunately I have a set of 5.13s sitting in my living room for it.

Safe enough as nothing happened.
