    Coronavirus

I guess I will concede you point that 'herd immunity' by your definition ("the disease didn't cause human extinction") is possible. Middle ages plague pandemics came under control after killing roughly 30% of the population in Europe. U.S. is getting close to the 2% of the population killed by...

    Coronavirus

measles and mumps both controlled via vaccination. Chicken pox one I can see going either way on the importance of vaccine- minor disease to most with rare very serious complication. And I have no clue what you are claiming by saying polio is still around, just renamed. Nonsense on that one.

    Coronavirus

The only viruses eliminated to date has been small pox. Polio is very close. And all viruses mutate, some more readily than others. And yes, the goal of COVID is not really to eliminate it from existence. Just like the flu it isn't going to happen. By vaccines can save a heck of a lot of...

    Coronavirus

Name a disease that natural herd immunity has ever eliminated? The theory of natural herd immunity sounds fine and dandy, but just doesn't work.

At Lake Powell couple weeks ago we had to do a little recovery for a poor gentleman who hadn't yet learned the hazards of dropping water levels. Lot of pulling and digging got him free.

    Coronavirus

    1) Those who are unvaccinated are far more likely to harbor/carry the virus. Viruses mutate into new variants (such as the oft discussed delta variant) only when they have a host to harbor them. The unvaccinated increase the opportunity for the virus to mutate, become more infective or more...

One that you actually have to run! 45 minute half, no time out, no subbing in and out, fields larger than a football field.

Those of us in Grantsville have the chance to double the RME influence in city council (my wife is midway through her second term).

    Duramax low fuel pressure??

Had a great week at Lake Powell, not crowded and the new boat was great. But, as we pulled out of Bullfrog to start the journey home had the check engine light on my truck (2008 GMC with 6.6L Duramax) come one and 'engine power reduced' message came on (as if I couldn't tell by the 35mph climb.)...

    Political So now what

Very well said. And so often ignored by many (and at times myself.) If you look at the Olympic anthem/flag issue, consider how many references are made to "hating America", socialism, Marxism etc. when the reality is someone uses a visible position to protest what they see as a racial...

    Political So now what

I agree with your premise that choices have consequences. I would also argue that pre-emptive punishment ('you might break the rules so you can't be on the team') is wrong. But it is worth noting that those most vocal (here or other places) against athletes who 'disrespect the flag' very...

    Political So now what

Seems to me that many people consider it "free speech" if they agree with a message, "politicizing" if they don't. One of the most lacking concepts in recent years is recognizing people's right to protest or voice views that you may personally disagree with is just as critical as your rights to...

    I blame Greg's Crew

Traveled by rail often when working sled dog races in northern Manitoba. It is not the most comforting thing to pass abandoned cars from a previous derailment!

We are getting worried about our planned trip to Powell this week. Trying to talk to them at Bullfrog to make sure what status will be for launching later this week, and more importantly pulling out next week.

I will likely need to get a different prop. Power wise should be pretty good. It is the large (250 hp) of the two options the sell with it. If seems under powered can replace the outboard with a 300hp, once new motors actually become available.
