    Political So now what

I don't see a third party built around Trump having a lasting impact, other than allowing the GOP to move back towards the center. Other third party/independent campaigns built around an individual (think Ross Perot) lack staying power.

    Political So now what

It is unfortunate that too many people think we are somehow locked into only Democrat or Republican as our party options. The Republicans became a major party at the expense of the previous ones. I do think the Republican Party will either have to deliberately shed the far...

    New Year's Deer

I have been busy enough at work that posting photos from my New Year's weekend deer safari slipped past me. Did not see as many deer (probably only 800 or so) as some years, and only a few monster bucks, mostly right before dark when good photos were out of the question. Suspect the overall...

    Coronavirus

No study about a drug's effectiveness to COVID-19 would have been done in 2005 and antivirals are notoriously difficult to predict response from one virus to another, even if in the same family of viruses. An older study provides an initial start, but means very little about how actual...

    Coronavirus

Doctors don't get their updates via social media, so I don't think suppressing info plays a significant role in care. Reality is many drugs are being studied for different uses and new information is being gathered as those studies progress. Not everything is a conspiracy.

    Coronavirus

There is certainly some truth to parts of your comments. No question that economic, mental health and social impacts are real, but so are those same things on the families of those who die. Still seems to me that simple steps of social distancing, facemasks and limiting exposure via some...

    Coronavirus

The key question when discussing comorbidities is "would the person have died at that time had they not been infected with COVID?" Granted that is not always easily determined, but I still find it doubtful that the numbers being reported as a COVID death that are not are high enough play a...

    Coronavirus

I don't doubt fraud happens. Big business plus government asks for it. But on the debate of causes of death- COVID and comorbidities- reported statistics can only be wrong with false medical records. That does tie exactly to the core discussion. If there are issues with the CARES act and abuse...

    Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Pass word along to LeAnn and have her contact me if she needs more help via Rotary. I know there are some new grants available for Rotary Clubs to partner with local organizations this year.

    Coronavirus

Simple reality is that to try and contain COVID we are doing the exact things that help stop the spread of flu and other viruses. Just the simple fact that no employee comes to work at my clinic with so much as a cough (I pay them to stay home) instead of the typical 'come to work unless your...

    Coronavirus

@xjtony if you look at Utah data, they have reported cases being removed from COVD death statistics after it was determined that was not the actual cause of death, even if had a positive test. At least in Utah the actual cause of death being COVD is also not made solely by the attending...

    Coronavirus

My medical degree (yes, veterinary medicine) has taught me how to understand and apply the idea of comorbidities. I do know how they work. Here is a definition: co·mor·bid·i·ty (kō'mōr-bid'i-tē), A concomitant but unrelated pathologic or disease process; usually used in epidemiology to...

    Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Very cool. Have you reached out to the local Rotary in Logan? Can be great source of both labor and donations. If you think it would help, I would be happy to have you speak (Zoom) to our Midvalley Rotary Club here in the SL valley. PM me.

After months of carefully monitoring the dashboard, I finally achieved the absolutely pointless goal of having my speed, outside temp and miles to empty the same. 😎

    Coronavirus

How you present the numbers is interesting. Put it in decimals and it looks very small. Point out that we are nearing the point where 1 in 800 people in the US have died of COVID and it seems rather significant. The knock against 'co-morbidities' is still absurd. The simple fact is those are...

    Large volume water storage?

Great info. I will take you up on looking at your system before I buy anything.

    Large volume water storage?

Algae growth and space are the difficulties with the totes- looking for ways to minimize the footprint. Freezing is a concern as well. Frozen water doesn't do much for storage. I have looked into the large, black tanks on-line, have not priced Tractor Supply. Will have to do that.
