You should put in for general deer as well, especially if you've never hunted. Get some experience before going after that once in a lifetime moose. I'm sure there are lots of us who hunt that would be more than happy to take you out.

My bachelors degree is in Outdoor Recreation. I'd like to be a Rec. Planner with the BLM or F/S. That was the goal anyway, I think I could affect recreation on public lands for the better and get paid to do it. Those jobs don't come available often though, so for now I like where I am.

Exactly this. I seriously looked at the Lowrance stuff, but it just lacked in the quality of maps for it. I still use my Garmin etrex vista with maps from miscjunk.org

For me, even more rewarding than the eggs, etc. it has been giving my kids the opportunity to care for them. When I had mine, after a few weeks, they would follow my daughter around, she would feed them from her hand, gather eggs. my son helped me build the coop, and clean it out when needed...

I had 6 chickens for a couple years. Pretty easy, and got 5-6 eggs a day which was great. After a few years they stop laying, then you eat em and get new ones. I'll probably get more this spring.
