    Epic food porn

Not food, but I got this for free yesterday. $2400 new. They said it was tripping the breaker, hoping it’s something simple. This thing is a tank! It weighs 335 lbs. If I can get it working I may need to retire my traeger. According to Yoder’s website, this thing can get up to 700°!

    TDI Comanche Build

Sounds pretty close other than the 4.0. My front 30 is from a ‘96, non CAD I went and tried to pull a 4.10 LSD 8.8 today. Started to pull the driveshaft bolts and noticed the pinion bearings were thrashed, there was a bit of side to side slop in the flange. And of course, not one other 4.10 8.8...

    TDI Comanche Build

That is indeed tempting. After looking at pull a part, I can get an axle for $150 though, then I can clean it up from there. I’d like to stay spring under in the rear, so starting from scratch will be a bit easier than somebody else’s already been modified housing. Plus I think I want to go...

    TDI Comanche Build

Dang that’s quite a bit. A true Detroit true trac? Is that pretty typical?

    TDI Comanche Build

I know the open carrier Dana 35 gets a lot of hate, but I got a 35 with a limited slip here in my driveway. What’s the consensus on the trac lock vs open carrier strength? I was thinking about an 8.8 swap, but here’s my conundrum. I plan to do some light wheeling, but nothing crazy, maybe Hells...

Is it ok to have a "make light of" thread?

The listing reads: “for a jeep” I really hope nobody (as in some 16 year old kid) gets ripped off from this. I messaged the seller and politely informed them that’s not an ARB. They stopped responding 😂 Edit: guy responded and told me, “I’ve clearly never owned one before” so I had no idea...

    Any Mtn Bikers on RME?

I swear that place has been open for a while? Either that or I ran a different park in EM? Maybe they just rebuilt it? I have a video if I can figure out how to link it in.

    TDI Comanche Build

Cool part number, anybody know who might be the manufacture of these? Or where to look for interpretation? Googling the number yields nothing.

    TDI Comanche Build

Good to know! I can’t recall for sure if they were 4.5” or what exactly, I bough them on KSL and the guy didn’t speak English. I’ll have to figure out if the number on them ties to anything I can find

    TDI Comanche Build

That looks better. Lowers will need more adjusting still. I bought the coils used, supposedly they’re 4.5” lift. Edit: now I’m confused… is the bend in the lowers supposed to point up or down? Originally I thought up, but they didn’t fit right. Now I flipped them, and just noticed the graphic...

    TDI Comanche Build

Well that was a fail….I installed my lowers upside down. Didn’t realize it til after I got it bolted together. I was wondering why I couldn’t get it together and had to crank out the uppers so far. This is a learning moment for me, I’ve never worked on a link setup before! And does anybody...

    TDI Comanche Build

My own, I’ll just do a simple standalone harness. Since the Jeep is an ‘87, there’s not much I’ll need to interface, I’ll just use jeep sensors in added ports where needed, temp, oil pressure etc. The earlier VW stuff as in pre common rail is pretty dang easy to weed down yourself. Or if I get...

For Sale Jeep at Pick n Pull

Not always, I think some are registered as dealers also. Perhaps after it’s entered the yard? Pull n save has vehicles for sale every so often near me, and I saw them load a 4th gen dodge onto a car transport recently.
