Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Yeah that was the one thing that crossed my mind, another guy on Facebook suggested it, but after thinking about it, it might be difficult. I really only plan on maybe 32” tires max, so it’s probably not too necessary, the objective of this build is extreme comfort, very stable on road, and...

Or I could possibly flip them, and run them top side of the axle?

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Got my 80 arms. Mocking them up. I am thinking about some sort of subframe mounts, but unfortunately it would be in the way of the front driveshaft. Thinking I’ll just have to build two separate mounts and try to keep everything square, which will probably be a bit of a challenge I’m sure. I’m...

    Radius arm basics?

Got some 80 series arms today. Need to get new bushings for them though. May have to end up modifying the body mount, depending how much up travel I have with it.

    Today I Want This....

Definitely agree that 8k is high, but he’ll probably get it from somebody. Im actually a huge fan of the old Ford C series cab overs, and they seem to litter old farmers fields everywhere. Crazy to see how many go to scrap though, and makes me want to try to pick one up on the cheap.

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

It actually is arced, but only on a 7.25" radius, with a .75” center to center range, which isn’t much. I figure though I can get everything setup to pretty close to perfect, weld up the mounts, then fine adjust with that .75” swing. here’s a pic to prove it’s arced, it’s just hard to see...

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

This is pretty crude, but I think this very basic bracket would work. Passenger side tube is slightly larger, so I accounted for that in the drawing there. It's not super pretty. Anybody have any suggestions of how I could or should draw it differently? Move the axle forward in the bracket? As...

    Forrest Fenn's Treasure Hunt

She herself is an attorney, a real estate attorney, but makes me wonder if she has connections that are willing to fight with her just to try to get a cut.

    Forrest Fenn's Treasure Hunt

That's awesome, glad that there is at least one person out there who is concerned about stuff getting destroyed by tourists, and that he won't share the location. Also, it's insane that the lady suing him even has a leg to stand on. It does make me wonder if, in the lawsuit, he'll have to...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Back when I was probably 18 or 19, some friends of mine were standing around about 15 yards from an empty propane tank we were shooting at. Buddy of mine shot it with a .45, and that lead came straight back at us, significantly slower to the point you could see it, but still might not have felt...

    Radius arm basics?

Just found some, would be around $40 without shipping for the 6. Guess it’s just the OEM band similar that are crazy.

    Radius arm basics?

Dang, 80 series bushings are stupid expensive for what they are. I’m better off building my own arms it looks like.

    Abandoned vehicle purchase experiences?

I do have to wonder as well, I believe the owner bought the property “as is” with everything on it. I believe the property could possibly have been rental, as the owner information I found inside the vehicle did not match the owner information from the county assessors website. Which would beg...

    Abandoned vehicle purchase experiences?

That is some excellent information! I did not know the DMV had a help line. I believe I’ve tried to call before and thought it was always just a computer automated message saying their hours or some worthless info. I’ll give them a call tomorrow and see what I can do. Thanks for your help everybody!

Cut up some new frame fish plates with a rosette weld hole. Started mocking up my tcase position, moving it back about 6” from stock.

Happen to know the dimensions of those bushings off the top of your head?

    Radius arm basics?

Wow, those are some beefy looking units! What kind of joints are you using on the frame side there?

    Radius arm basics?

Good to know, I suppose for how many there are out there that would make sense. So, does anybody happen to have a set of FJ arms they wouldn't mind selling, or at least letting me borrow for a bit for some mockups? @bryson are those ones in your picture yours, being used?

    Radius arm basics?

Very small, bushings are small and I don't believe you can even buy them anymore, unless somebody sells a universal one that will fit. With a 4" or so lift too, the bar will need to either be dropped in the front, or some sort of crazy extensions made. I mean, I do have one, and I can definitely...
