Recovery gear test day. Snow run #2

A few more down at the bottom. Then it was the long drive down an even more muddy road than it was during the morning. Looks like I have some work to do this week. Sent from my H1611 using Tapatalk

Recovery gear test day. Snow run #2

Once all 3 vehicles were parked up the road a bit in not so deep snow. We ran back to pick up the gear. Back in the rigs we drove about another 1/2 mile, had another small stuck. As we were winching Rubi back and filling in some holes, laying down a pair of WB's . We tossed in the idea of...

Recovery gear test day. Snow run #2

After getting into the canyon. Had Rubi_on_rocks in the front since he had 2 lockers and newer MT's. We were making good progress. Then about a mile up all progress stopped. I winched him back a few times to have him get another run at it. Slowly making up about 10 feet at a time. At a...

Recovery gear test day. Snow run #2

What an epic day. After reaching the Railroad bed road. We were in for a full day. Just getting down this road was fun enough. Slow going at first, could only do about 30mph safely. Plenty of slick snow/mud to get sideways and wiggly . [emoji50] First of all big thanks to DaveN and Rubi on...

    Thanks for the magazine.

The other day I received the compass magazine. I thought to myself must be a miss send. Then opening up the pages there's a picture of the Constrictor sign restore/install. I was glad to be a part of that and help out with the sign restoration. Haven't renewed my subscription to U4WDA in a few...

Help me decide I want a mid-size SUV

Have you looked into the Liberty. My wife has the 2nd gen model (KK). What sold us on that was the suspension. We test drove one at a DS in Tooele. Cruising along this road at about 60 mph when we hit a big bump in the road. When it came down I thought the it was going to bottom out hard...

Jeep Nathan and Tanja's 99 XJ Build up

I had them make me some custom e-brake cables for my 32. Worked great. Got a quick question for ya; I may need to bump-stop my front suspension an inch. Anything you recommend ? I'd like to feel like im not smacking frame when it bottoms out. Sent from my H1611 using Tapatalk

Recovery gear test session (feeler thread)

Or you can pull the front bumper right up to it and winch it up/out. A few YT vids shows that. I've been watching the Alaska off-road warriors episodes. Aside from the drama how many T.V.shows have winching out of the mud. War rig builds his own from scrap steel after watching super jeep use his...

Recovery gear test session (feeler thread)

Did more flat pull testing. Kinda hard to find a location since the ground is frozen. 1st location it went down about 6" but below that was frozen. Still pulled the jeep with slight pressure on the e-brake. 2nd location was softer dirt since they just demolished a house and filled in the hole...
