Ive had good luck in my yota buggy over the last 3 years. I tipped it on its side 1 time is all plus its a cheap light bar so im not out much.
I had that same light bar to the front of my yota buggy aready and it got torn off by a big rock. I had to drill and retap the side mounting holes on it.
Get you a scarfing tip for a torch. I remove bigger stuff than that at work with them weekly. They are really precise like a plasma gouging tip. Use with a air chisel for best results. Torch, chisel off slag, repeat. LINK>...
Well i made a light bar mount tonight. 1" .120" tubeing
I grinded the peaks off a 3/4" nut and welded it inside the tubing.
chasing threads ect.
20" light bar. I still need to mount a stiff/adjusting rod on the back side.
Not much to add other than what ever one else says.
I will vouche for trail gear though. I bent my double ender 8" inch ram down(ya down dont know how that happened) on my toyota axle and it was out of warrenty (like a full year) and trail gear told me to ship it to them and they would take...
I asked my old lady where I should put them and she said the living room lol. She was sad when I took the atlas and tranny off the entertainment stand. she had to redecorate it.
I picked up some tires for it on Thursday. 42" SX II. I'm looking for some 17" 8lug wheels if any one has some to sell, bead lock or some steel pro comp style wheels.
Still haven't found a motor yet but I have made some "progress".
I went ahead and cut the orbital mount off and moved it more forward. It will make getting in and out easier, shorted the hydro lines to the ram, and put some more weight forward.
I still need to burn in the colum and pick...
Every thing has been scrapped !
Cut up my buddies perfectly good four door xj yesterday and we saved the all the doors. They all have glass with manual windows that all work as far as I know. They have some dings and scratches but are not totaled. They all have the entire...
It will get in the way yes. i will have to cut off the mounts under the frame. my plan was to weld the leaf mounts straight to the bumper and the frame when the time comes instead of adding a x member between the leaf mounts like most do. Its just metal :D
This will be super slow build of my dd Toyota truck. The goal is just to have something cool looking for the most part and still be able to drive it to work and in the hills like I do meow. I will only work on it when I am super bored and burnt out on my other projects all the while keeping it...
I finally got a new motor for my big antique Gardner Denver air compressor. 5 hp motors aren't cheap but I found a good deal on ebay. I had to make a sleeve adapter so the original pulley would fit. I went ahead and changed the motor oil, added a longer drain pipe to it so the oil doesn't leak...
Me and yj_auzzy are going up crazy 8 today to check it out. It changes a lot when ever it rains.
We could take you up this weekend sometime this weekend If its passable/worth it. We also have some other smaller trails Just west of Richfield.
