If there is a sinister portion of the FBI I'm sure it's a small percentage like 5% but just like with local law enforcement, that much power used wrongly in the hands of even 5% is terrifying.

Who says the FBI didn't do something, or several somethings? A freakishly high % of mass shooters were on the FBI radar well in advance of the actual shooting. Maybe operating under the assumption that everyone at the FBI has good intentions is a flawed assumption given the evidence at hand.
