XSI a great camera and great value, but you know you want the 40d. The 40 has a lot of nice features and the speed is nice. Many I did not think I would use, but now don't want to ever be without them. Highlight recover, and high iso noise reduction are the biggies. Also being able to shoot raw...

Buds I have Yuin PK2's, Love them! Clearer and better soundstage then most of the closed cans I have tried. For in ears, it really depends on budget. Sennheiser cx300's area good and can be had in the $30-50 range, Altec 716's come up on clearence around the net for $60 range. $120-$150 range...

Single digit pressures I would recommend bead locks. On the street a QUALITY beadlock is fine and will be able to balance well (100mph racetrucks run beadlocks) But there are other options. I know of 2 companies making internal beadlocks. Even though there is NO law against beadlocks in Utah...
