    Solar Freaking Panels on Roadways?

No sunlight at night, no sunlight when vehicles are on them, high maintenance/complexity/cost. The idea just doesn't pan out in my mind. Solar powered shingles makes a whole lot more sense during the day. Can you imagine how torn up these things would get with plowing each winter?

Rusty axle shafts/joints, what's your fix?

That's what I was thinking of. Anyone recommend a decent pick-n-pull type place?

Rusty axle shafts/joints, what's your fix?

C-clips are out but the joints won't budge. Didn't try heating them up yet but that sounds like it could be my next step. Any recommendations on liquids that kill rust? I've used PB blaster in the past but all I had on tap was liquid wrench stuff.

Rusty axle shafts/joints, what's your fix?

Just went to replace the joints in the wife's dana 30 and even after several days of spraying with liquid wrench and scrubbing as best I can the joints don't seem to want to budge. Popped them on an old worn out 10 ton press and they still wouldn't budge. What do you guys do in this...

Anybody else getting destroyed by allergies right now ?

Yes! I've been hit hard. Runny nose is annoying but my burning, itching eyes are what are really killing me off.

39" Pitbull Maddogs FS or Trade

I'll be sticking with the 15" wheels since I like their custom offset and I already own them. Also since I have to drive to and from the trails I'm looking for a standard tire vs a sticky.

39" Pitbull Maddogs FS or Trade

With the weight of the vehicle and aired up to street pressure they are about 37" tall. They're great tires, just too much for the 4cyl to push with how far I have to drive to wheel these days. When I lived in Vegas I could be on the trail in 30 minutes, tops an hour. Here I have to drive an...

39" Pitbull Maddogs FS or Trade

I don't get to wheel much these days since my truck seats two and there are four of us. Going to sell my 39" 14.50" 15" Pitbull Maddogs. I'll get pics up later today. They have decent tread left between 60 and 75%. I'm downsizing to either 35's or 37's in a 15" rim and am open for trades...

Trip Report - Salt Creek, May 1, 2014

Good to know that there really are bears there, that's interesting. My guess is that the policy change had nothing to do with locals and was part of the wide sweeping push for bear canister use that officials from above having been forcing. Ammo cans are a much better solution than bear...

Trip Report - Salt Creek, May 1, 2014

Why are bear cans required in an area with no bears? Sounds like a huge hassle for no benefit whatsoever. Edit: Answered my own question, looks like bears occasionally come into the park from the mountains. It sounds like pretty thin reasoning to force people to use bear cans but then again the...

    XJ Fuel Mileage Help

Given everything you guys are saying there is definetely something wrong with this XJ. I'll dig into it this weekend and see what I can come up with. With as many miles on it should I also be looking at water and oil pumps for this thing? Anything else I should do?

    Teraflex budget boost for XJ

Used Teraflex budget boost for XJ, I picked two up at a junkyard years ago, doing some garage cleaning. I'll have to go out and take a look but it's shackles and pucks, I may have the shackle bolts for it. $50, call or text 801-556-8133

    XJ Fuel Mileage Help

3.55's. Yes, I'm actually using GPS to track mileage. If it wasn't getting such bad mileage I'd consider 4.56's and 33 10.50's but at this point unless I can figure out why it's getting such bad mileage I may just pop some 235's on the thing (it needs new tires).

    XJ Fuel Mileage Help

That's the thing, it isn't throwing any codes. It does have a decent amount of miles on it and I don't know what it's maintenance history is like. Ok, so here's what I have so far. Oil Change - going to try some 5W-30 Moblie one Champion plugs (gap?) , I believe RC12LYC Air Filter Air...

    XJ Fuel Mileage Help

As I've been looking at the options keep this turd of an XJ just makes sense, even at 10mpg it's cheaper than going the alternative route and it's a hell of a lot more capable than an outback. Past normal tune up stuff any ideas? Fuel injectors? Throttle body? IAC?

    XJ Fuel Mileage Help

Ha! I don't commute in it, but would like to get better mileage on long trips out to the desert. Civic doesn't cut it for getting into the back country, although a Subaru Outback would be decent for quite a bit and get much better mileage, financially it just doesn't make sense for me to buy one...

    XJ Fuel Mileage Help

97' XJ, ~ 145k on it, 3" lift, 31's, stock gears and just getting crap mileage, around 10mpg mixed driving. If 100% highway I may be pulling 13mpg. I'll be doing the following but am looking for thoughts and ideas from you guys on anything else to look at that could be causing the poor mileage...
