    Build Thread: Sixstringsteve's 2005 4Runner Lorenzo

I ran 10ga wire to the back passenger corner of the bed of my truck and installed a 12v Port back there. I store the fridge in the garage and only put it in when needed (partly because it's more exposed to theft in the back of a pickup). Also, I never tie it down. Between the rubber feet on...

I haven't noticed mine fluctuating quite that much, but it does some. Mine also need to be set lower than you would think

    Show Us Your PROJECTS!

I'll play.. I built a cargo platform for the back of my travel trailer. Stout enough to hold my generator. Fortunately, Jayco was nice enough to provide attachment point welded to the I-beam frame. Most likely they would prefer I buy their platform, but at $774 plus tax plus shipping from...

Kurt, The stain needs to be shaken/stirred/mixed before use. That's easiest to do in the sealed can in a paint shaker. Do you have that stain yet? I have a stirrer and a drill to run it but it's a little short for a 5 gal bucket if that's what NFS is providing. Also, are they going to provide...

Shop build - metal or wood?

awesome... I think for things like office buildings it's more about giving the ccupants time to get out.

Shop build - metal or wood?

Kurt, sounds like you rebuilt using the existing steel framing. Were there any structural concerns after the fire? I know that the asbestos looking flocked stuff on structural steel is to protect it from the heat and maintain structure. Maybe if it doesn't fall, mild steel is OK after a fire.

Kurt, I'm in. I'll bring my sprayer and generator. With my sprayer, that fence should be no more than a 4 hr job for one person (at max delivery it can spray a gallon in 3 min), or I can stay away and let the 20 have some fun :). I'll also offer a weed eater to clear the grass and stuff from...

Placing an Anchor in a Concrete floor for a winching point

This seem overly complicated. I'd drill a 3/4" hole in the floor with a slight tilt away from the door, drop a piece of 5/8 rebar or other solid stock (3/4 if the hole allows), drop your shackle over it so it lays on the floor, winch the truck in and call it a day. If you fold over 5/8" rod...
