I think the lift was installed properly. I'm positive that it was not well cared for in the last couple years.

Reverse rotation marine engines exist in single engine setups as well. I'm not an expert, but I did acquire a Holman Moody built 427 boat engine a while ago and discussed this issue with Lee Holman.
