I was in the same shoes. I just couldn't stomach 20k for a truck with 200k+ miles, so I ended up with a gas truck. After searching for 6 months and driving every GMC/Chev duramax that popped up under 20k (which coincicentally all of them had over 200k miles) I drove looked beat to crap inside...

For a F150 Dana 44 you'll want a 76 or 77 F250 Dana 44 you'll 78-79 You likely won't find a f150 with 4.10s unless it's been regeared. Good luck with the 78-79 dana 60 unicorn. Most of them have been snapped up.

We used a transformer from an old microwave at my work a few years ago. Used a YouTube tutorial.

I like my newer 6.2L F250 gasser Ford. 13.5-14.5 mpg. For a 4 door long bed that's not bad at all. You can pick one up just barely in that price range.

Yeah exactly, my YZ450f cost me around $900 to rebuild the top end and I did everything. The only thing I paid for was to have the valve seats machined to match the new SS valves. I love my 300. Rebuilds are less than 2 hrs and around $105 for an expensive hypereutectic Numura piston kit.
