    Wanted 42RE Transmission

I picked up a project ZJ with low miles that needs a transmission. Sounds like I need a 93.5-98 42RE. I don't want to rebuild one, so it must be a known working transmission. Cash in hand for the right deal.

    5.3 Swap into YJ...what should I know?

So, I ended up passing on the motor and trans I had my eye on. I was just too skeptical without hearing it run first and who was selling it. With that said, I have my eye on another powertrain that is still in the vehicle. It's a 99, so drive by cable. Probably going to go look at it this...

    5.3 Swap into YJ...what should I know?

Thanks for all of the info and tips! Looking around, there appears to be a variety of vendors/companies that sell harnesses or do modifications. I’ve been looking at one particular site that makes me think I can thin the harness myself. Maybe I’ll give it a shot and if all else fails, I’ll...

    5.3 Swap into YJ...what should I know?

Well, of course my simple 4.2-4.0 swap has snowballed and it looks like I’m picking up a 5.3/4L60e this weekend. I’m grabbing the ECM and stock harness while I’m there. So, what should I know before I go look at this thing? The story I’m told is it’s out of a wrecked 2002 Suburban with about...

    99 XJ HD build

I used the stock trans cooler that was in my XJ for my steering cooler after upgrading to a larger trans cooler. The smaller PSC pulley spins faster which helped the pump move more fluid at lower RPMs.

    99 XJ HD build

I don't have any pictures or a write-up, but when I did mine I believe I followed a write-up on NAXJA or Pirate. I used parts from Surplus Center and drilled/tapped my steering box and was totally happy with it. I also ran an underdrive pulley from PSC and plumbed in a cooler.

    Sand Hollow May 5 & 6

Bittersweet morning. Just watched the Jeep drive away with its new owner. So, we’re out.

Colorado May RME Monthly Trip; 21 Road and Billings Canyon

Just watched the Jeep drive away with a new owner. I’ll probably show up for Billings and just walk the dog along and visit with folks.

    My work/tow rig... (constant changes)

Have any interest in a matching camper shell? I'm planning to go to a gooseneck setup for a bigger trailer, so mine isn't going to work for me much longer.

    Sand Hollow May 5 & 6

Thanks - It’s one of those things that if it sells, great. If not, I’ll keep on using it until it does or I eventually finish the YJ. I’ll be driving over Friday and driving home the following Monday. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express right off the exit for Sand Hollow.

Not sure if I’m even close to buggy-ish but I’ll give it my darnedest to keep up! Unless this weekend’s looker turns into a buyer for the XJ...

The XJ is still for sale, but I doubt it’ll sell as a whole. I’ll most likely still be driving it at that point. I’ve had a few setbacks that put me behind on the YJ.

    Wanted XJ front driveshaft

Trying to sell my XJ right now, but if it doesn’t go as a whole I will likely part it out. If that happens, I’ll have a set of “built” XJ axles up for grabs. https://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/d/1999-jeep-cherokee-xj-rock/6514794862.html
