    Jeeper's Chevy Colorado 2.0

My old boss (old school electrical engineer) used to say every time you drain a lead acid battery to nothing it takes a year off it's life. FWIW.

    Massimo 12v fridge

The discrepancy between the battery voltage and the fridge voltage is probably due to the wire size being too small. Was this plugged into the cigarette lighter or clamped directly to the battery? What is the wire gauge on the fridge cord?

I want to build a "portable" dual battery/power bank setup.

If "power pack that I can recharge on the fly" is the goal then I would skip the solenoid and battery cables all together. Install a small DC DC charger (like this) into the box with the battery and wire it to a male cigarette lighter plug. Throw in a couple of these (or similar) for your...

I want to build a "portable" dual battery/power bank setup.

Is your goal to be able to start the vehicle with the portable box if your accessories drain the vehicle battery? Because the solenoid in the box will just disconnect the portable battery if it starts to get low. Or are you planning to run the accessories off the portable battery and just want...

2006 Xterra off road rear axle parts

My co-worker has a 2006 Xterra off road package with a manual transmission. It has a Dana M226 rear axle with E-locker and 3.69 gear ratio. Last week he broke a side gear which also stripped the splines on a shaft. We can find the shafts from Nissan (for almost $500!) but no luck with the side...

    Any Mtn Bikers on RME?

It's a ~26 mile shuttled ride that starts at the top of guardsman pass and ends at the bottom of millcreek canyon. Not a bad ride, pretty crowded. Also, I heard that guardsman was closed for a paving project. Better check the dates. Edit: looks like it's just closed today and tomorrow.

    2008 Tacoma Leaf Spring Question

I had a 2007 from new. The recall is just because the spring rate was too soft to be used as a truck. If it's working for your needs as it is I wouldn't worry about it.

    Mortgage Rates

I did a no closing cost refi with AFCU a few years ago. It's basically a home equity loan that you pay off your mortgage with. So then you don't have escrow anymore and have to take care of your own insurance and taxes every year. NBD for me since I'll be doing that in 3 years when it's paid off...
