I have a few parts that I would like to powder coat and they have some rust. Do I need to remove the rust prior to sending in the parts? Some are rims, which are the worst parts. Thanks,

Well, decided to strip down the engine compartment and put some elbow work to it. I'll post a pic once done.

Thanks for all the feed back. I also did a little research and there is a product called mean green degreaser that seems to also work well. I figured I could remove a few easy to get to parts, clean them and then head to the car wash for the pressure wash.

Finding a cruiser that has minimum rust is an excellent foundation for a restoration. Most of the time the value comes to the owner/buyer because of the condition. Cruisers are rust buckets and finding one in this condition is a great find. Then add in the millage and that everything is complete...

Who has the best recipe for the best/easiest way to remove baked on engine oil? And I'm talking about 1/4+. Please don't tell me, carb cleaner and a scraper......:p I want a miracle.. :thumbs:
