I was running a 242 in my XJ. Long story short, it exploded. Had to find a 231 from a 93 and sway input gears, It seems much stronger.

Simply said, do not go 8". Ive got an '89 XJ, and originally I had 8"+, but it was just rediculous. Im running 35's, and Ive brought it down to about 6, which is much much better. A little sawzall, and im right where I want to be. 8 inches is much too tall, way too topheavy.

Ive got a used set of custon Alcan rear springs with originally about 9" of lift, but they are used so have sagged a lil. I got em used, and they were a little big, so I stuck with 6.5's from Rusty's. They are just sitting around, so if you have any need for em let me know. If you would pay...
