For Sale Time to clean out the garage...

Make me an offer on this stuff, even if it's in beer. I want it gone: Really big electrical panel (about 5 feet tall), never installed. Motorized concrete mixer, two sets of Corbeau seat belt pads, new in box Flow Kooler water pump for TBI Chevy small block and 4.3L V6, new in box.

For Sale Time to clean out the garage...

Free: A bunch of really heavy duty shackles, unused flex radiator hoses, buggy leaves (made from stock YJ), 4 link bracket, 1x KC spot light, adhesive, Dana 60 stub shafts (Chevy 30 spline), GM AC delete pulley, GM P pump from early 2000s truck with hydroboost, a whole bunch of humidifier...

Debate this with me: FWD car, good driver, where to put only 2 winter tires, front or back?

As always, you are making good sense my man. With a 1.3L engine and a terrible CVT tranny, my little $#!+box has about zero compression braking ability. :crying: The traction problem I wage war with is when flirting with the edge of traction up front when accelerating in the snow...

Debate this with me: FWD car, good driver, where to put only 2 winter tires, front or back?

Yeah I was blown away when discount told me they wouldn't even mount them like that. I requested the snow tires up front and the dude went on to tell me about their liability policy, and that I would have to go home and swap them around myself if I wanted snow tires up front. I hadn't realized...

Debate this with me: FWD car, good driver, where to put only 2 winter tires, front or back?

ID Bronco Yeah I was wary of touting driving abilities, which is why I talked about the driver in a hypothetical way. In no way am I claiming to be a badass, just highly competent at winter driving. I wanted to convey that I am not asking what anyone thinks about what to do about the car their...

Debate this with me: FWD car, good driver, where to put only 2 winter tires, front or back?

I know tire shops all say just buy 4, and if you must only run 2 winter tires, to put them on the back, even if it is a FWD car. I would say that is sound advice for non-drivers, the average soccer mom who loves her ABS brakes and isn't well practiced in the art of straightening out a skid...

Happy to Stratton. Thanks for letting me hang with ya last night. Be safe out there this winter! Latest additions or price reductions. Still have more to go, but I am done writing ads for today: GM TBI service manual (bring me 2-6 beers and it's yours) Various 1947 Willys factory engine parts...

For Sale Time to clean out the garage...

I have a goal of parking in my garage someday, and that means I need to get rid of a whole bunch of stuff that is currently filling it. Mostly ski gear and off-road parts. A couple of these things (like the GM factory TBI wiring diagram service manual) I am more interested in just getting to a...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

That was crazy cool. I would do it all again without hesitation. It was surprising how sudden and complete the darkness was. We were beyond fortuitous. I walked over to the only other camp near us this morning to ask if they had a precise timeline, and they told me that the partial started in...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

I still have 5 Jerry cans in the TLC, just in case the drive home involves any dried up or price gouging gas stations. Feeling pretty good about all of this. Maybe it's just the bloody Mary in my hand...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

Halfway there in Kemerer right now, grabbing a bite at the Caribou Cafe. No traffic to speak of. Fuel prices are reasonable. Weather is nice. I think the way home is where challenges may occur, but I think Wyoming was a good call. I'm sure it will be better than SB I-15 come Monday. Much...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

Thanks for the suggestions! In other good news, one of my friend asked if he could come, so now I've got a copilot that can take the wheel when I've had enough of it. Conversation will be a bit better than the mutts too. After some serious time with google maps, I'm really liking how many off...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

Google maps was going to be my main resource, so I really appreciate the link. I'm worried about gates and whatnot that Google won't show me. Thanks Greg! I'll cross my fingers for ya, I'll look a little into that direction tomorrow. Just wrapping up with a stupid long day right now, and I'm...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

Greg, do you have any mapping resources that would be good for me to check out as I try to plot a route? You plan all kinds of rad KTM adventures!

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

Rexburg or Jackson Hole are about centered in the zone of totality. Idaho Falls is about the most southerly place that's reasonably accessible to me. A few gas cans, my dogs, and the basic off road supplies in my Land Cruiser sounds like a great way to spend a couple days anyway, putting a cool...

Dirt road adventure to Idaho to see the eclipse without getting stuck in I15 traffic?

I really want to see the eclipse, but all sighns point to an absolute cluster**** on the drive there and back. There has to be some dirt road options that can allow me to go and skip the interstate mess. I have yet to sit down with some maps and really start going over a route, but figured that...

BlueTorch Fusion 2 seater; Tons, 42's, full hydro, Stak, etc - Colorado

Yup. It's got to be a chassis that I built. Someone else did all the finishing, I just built the bare chassis. They are solid. An identical chassis I built at the same time won the TTC rolling on 54's.
