“Action Camera” - GoPro or ?????

I tried some cheaper off brands, but I ended up with a gopro anyway.

Buy a good, used older model GoPro... like a 4 or 5.

Or a refurbished off Ebay, I've had good luck with that.

I like the Sony. Mine is the FDR-X3000R. It's lasted me over three years.

My wife bought me a GoPro Black Edition one Christmas that had the screen die just out of warranty (6 months?) They couldn't repair it. Best they could do was a 10% discount on a new one. I had used it twice. Seemed like too much money for what it did.

The new Sony is the HDR series. I prefer the form factor for mounting on a helmet or a tripod. It uses standard camera threaded mounts.



The stabilization that Sony has achieved is amazing. Sometimes it makes a rough trail look too smooth!

I have a brand new GoPro 7 that is still in the box and never been used I'd make you deal on.

We snagged a "scope" type camera off Amazon that worked for what we needed it to.

It is okay to spend more on quality products. GoPro will always be my favorite action camera.
