Loved my 1948 Chevy I drove in high school. My dad sold it this summer, after 30 years in the family.

Look forward to following your progress.

I've narrowed it to a 64-72 and I'm still looking. But I just had a cool thought. Short bed jeep j10, 2wd, dropped, with an ls motor, original patina or matte paint.

Expanded my search to 60-87 Chevy or gmc 2wd short bed, preferably fleet side. Would love an 83 since it was the year I was born but beggars can't be choosers.

I'll be picking up a lq4 and 2wd 4l80e and all the goodies that go with it tomorrow. When I say goodies I mean the whole truck minus most of the body. This will be used in whatever truck I get in the future. Also getting a mint bed with it that is from one of the quadrasteer chevy's that had flared wheel wells. So I'll be able to fit some super fat tires under the truck without modding or rubbing. Wasn't even looking for this stuff but couldn't pass up the deal.

That's pretty awesome. I could fit my new motor and tranny in there and have an awesome truck. I wish I had somewhere for a project right now.

Paul I asked him if he knew you and he said he knows of you. Real nice guy. Held it for me for months and then when he heard how crazy my life is right now he drove up and delivered it to me.

Greg, I do have a lot going on but this will be for me and my boy to work on and play around in while my wife is decorating the new house.

I passed it in the canyon this afternoon on my way back from mountain biking at Sundance. I kind of chuckled when I saw you post pictures of it.

Give some details on it. I have seen it sitting outside what I am going to assume is his shop for the last couple of weeks.

It's a 65 original short bed. It has a rebuilt 350 out of a nova with a 4 barrel edelbrock carb. All new wiring. There's no rust on the truck except the inner fenders on a corner of each under the hood. Needs a bed floor. It's lowered a few inches front and rear with the tubs widened and raised. Only downfall for me is its a manual but that can be taken care of fairly easy. First order of business will be power steering.

I figured out how to bring a '72 Blazer back into my garage. I told Ann that it would make a good project for Jack & I to work on for his first vehicle when he turns 16. She agreed and I am going to start looking for fixer upper.

Thats an awesome truck. And, if thats your new house in the background it looks very nice as well. I love the gray with white trim and the big porch.

That is my new house. Thanks for the compliments. We just moved in 2 days ago. But that's only half of the porch. ;) I drew the house up on graph paper and my wife said she wanted a big porch so she got a big porch. And I got an 1100 sq ft garage and 1300 sq ft of rv pad.
