1979 ford tow project

I have a 1979 ford crewcab shortbed. I am considering putting this body on a 98 dodge frame with the cummins in it. The extra cab long bed has the same wheel base. Has anybody done this yet, any ideas would be helpful.

Do you have a chassis just laying around with the drivetrain? If so I would say go at it. If not, why ruin a good truck to put a 30 year old body on it Unless you just have piles of money laying around

This would be one BA truck. That is the best body style of any American truck ever and with the nicest engine....mmmmmm.

I am looking at a salvage truck, frame and drivetrain are good the body is hammered. Did I mention my 79 is rust free.

why not just drop the drivetrain into the truck versus messing with swapping all the body and bed over. That would be easier and less complicated. The frames while the wheelbase measures the same are of completely different design. I think it would be easier to swap the drivetrain into your frame.
