1993 Grand Cherokee question

My friend just bought one of these and asked me some questions about it. I have no experience with them so I am differing to all your expertise.

First question: He said he was trying to remove the grill and couldn't get it out. He said he removed the obvious bolts on top and then tried to pull up (didn't work), he then tried to pull out (didn't work). Is there a secret to getting the grill off the Jeep?

Second question: He wants to lift it a little bit and I was wondering how similar it is to the TJ suspension. I have two 2" pucks and shock bar pin eliminators front and rear for a TJ that extend the shocks two inches. I was wondering if these items would work on his Grand. If they would he would just need to buy another pair of two inch pucks and we could get it up a couple of inches anyway.

I tihnk there is another screw on the front of the grill in one of the black slots. It's just screws--no trickery.

The pucks and BPE's will work on the front of the ZJ, but the rear springs are different for TJ's.

Many people do front to rear swaps. Putting teh stock front springs in the back and then buying 3.5" springs for the front is a cheap way to get some lift. Some longer shocks and some disco's and you're golden.

If you have some more coin, adj trac bars are nice to have to bring the axles back to center after the lift.

He can definitely wait a month...describe dirt cheap . I'll let him know. I see in your sig it is a 3.5" lift...is this correct?

Mine is a front to rear swap. I'm running Skyjacker XJ front springs, and Tera pucks to match the rear ride height. I'm settled to about 2.75" but I have heavier steel bumpers that sag me a bit.

I'm going to sell the pucks, the springs, Lower control arms and the front track bar.. probably shocks too. Hell, he can have all my control arms if he wants em... I won't be using them anymore. I'd like to get $150 for everything including shocks. All he'll need is his stock front springs, and a rear track bar or bracket if he decides to fix that... I haven't. (you should... I'm a dumbass for not fixing it, but I didn't want to spend any more money on a temp suspension than I had to... yes, temp is almost three years. My plans were thwarted by children).

He's coming by my house on Wednesday night to discuss a backpacking trip we are doing to King's Peak so I will let him know. My guess is he'll want to do it. What size tires do you run with this set-up?

I have 32"s on 8" wide aftermarket wheels, and they rub. With minimal trimming, you'll be fine on the street, but if you offroad, stick with 31"s, or a closer to stock wheel.
My ZJ is a 98 5.9 limited.
I'm probably at least a month from selling this stuff. I'll also be selling the rear AL44 and what's left of the 30 front.
