2000 Grand cherokee knocking noise

I just bought a 2000 grand and when i hit a bump i get a knocking/clunking noise from the left rear. It almost sounds like something is bottoming out or loose and it only does it when you hit a bump. anyone have anything like this on their grands or anybody give me options of what it could be i cant find anything that could be making the noise.

I have shook the shocks i have shook the exhaust,coils and every other part under there and i cant find it by hand?:-\

I can't remember what it is, but I seem to remember somethign pretty common on WJs.

Is it lifted at all? I'm betting it's a track bar bushing.

sorry... not lifted at all it is all stock. It doesn't effect the way it drives or anything and makes no noise unless you hit a bump

No rear track bar on WJs... Shock bushing? You might not be able to move it by hand, but take a close look at your bushings.

Check the attachment of the inside panel to the lift gate. I had one that was loose and it made a noise that sounded like the muffler was hitting the floor pan.
