2007 Labor Day Campout Moab

Who has done Delores Triangle?? Whats it like? Difficutly? Tamerisk? Good camping??

Its been awhile (1995, I think), but I enjoyed it. The best way to describe it is remote. The most difficult spot I remember was the old dugway heading up to Steamboat Mesa. At the time I had 31's and no lockers and didn't have any trouble. I don't think it would give your Tacoma any problems.

That said, we did have an FJ40 bust a rear axle shaft in a canyon above the Delores River crossing. It had obviously been broken for awhile as half of the shaft's cross-section was rusted and just let go at that time.

The Delores River crossing way pretty anti-climatical as the river wasn't very high. I could see it being much more challenging in higher water.

I honestly don't remember any tamerisk, but I am sure there is some near the Delores River. The majority of the trail is spent cruising around two mesas above the River. There are some amazing views. The camping spot we chose was near the edge of the mesa and we could see I-70 and beyond.

I would definitely do it again. A small group could complete the entire trail in one log day.

You really should come! We'll do another BBQ just for you! :hickey: September is still a bit warm, but nothing too crazy. It's normally high 80's so pretty decent.

Woo hoo! I'll go get my new seals and try for the FOURTH time to seal up my rear main. Anyone want to do it for me though? Maybe I'm doing it wrong :hickey:
