My jeep is starting to get the infamous death wobble. I narrowed it down to the track bar, The end on the frame moves as does the bolt. The rod end moves about 1/2" the bolt maybe 1/4". I hoping the bolt hole in the bracket is not to wallowed out to bad.

Can anyone identify this track bar?

What kind is it?

If the end is a standard rod end/Johnny Joint

Thanks for the help.

The teraflex drag link flip kit did wonders for the handling on my JK and eliminated all death wobble issues. it also tightened up the steering dramatically.

I bet it did, I'm looking at getting one of those in the future.

The track bar moves about 1/2 around on the bolt and in the mount. I'm pretty sure this is the main reason I have death wobble.

If you're getting that much movement, that hole is all sorts of buggered up. You could source a new rod end that would accommodate a larger diameter mounting bolt, then drill out the frame mount. Or you can use that same size rod end, and weld a washer on each side of the mount so it can't move in the damaged holes.

Use a very thick washer to keep it from happening again in the future

That's the plan. I was hoping someone might know what track bar this is, so I could find out where to start without having the jeep immobile while I get the parts.

The threads on the end look pretty fine--if they're 7/8"-18, it's a Teraflex track bar....and by the design, it's a very old one which they don't make anymore. The tube itself proved too flexible. For quite a while, they would swap out that one for the newer/forged version whenever they saw one. I don't remember if it was a free upgrade, or a heavily discounted one--but it's worth a phone call to check, if it is a Tera bar.

I will check the diameter and the tpi. Thanks
