2010 Dodge Cummins

Anyone have experience with a 2010 Dodge Cummins with the 6.7 liter Cummins? I have a guy that wants to trade me his Dodge for something of mine. I'm wondering if there are any negatives to these trucks? The owner told me that the truck is all wheel drive. Is this true? Do they not have a selectable 4wd system that has 2 lo and 2 hi? I can't have a 2 wheel drive truck but I can live with all wheel drive. Could an all wheel drive system even hold up to the Cummins motor?

Stratton is right... Solid front axle with a normal, part time t-case - assuming it is a 4wd truck. I know they have lots of emissions crap on them, but I have no personal experience with them, so I'm not much help.

Best drive train ever! without the emissions crap of course.... I have several in the driveway right now... one with over 200K and it still drives like new. The 6 speed auto is awesome coupled with the factory exhaust brake.

I have a 2011 and have had no problems to date 35K , They DO NOT have all wheel drive some have a 4wd switch on the dash (mine) and some have a floor lever,

Mine is stock and can say that it compared to old 01 cummins its a dream,

Had no problem doing more than the speed limit on the way to hanging tree last summer,

Other than the obvious reasons of owning a 4wd vehicle, is there negatives to owning a 2wd dodge cummins 2500? I can buy this truck for $19500. It has the 6.7 liter cummins with built 6 speed auto, fifth wheel hitch, jake brake, trailer brake, brand new mtz tires, and 54000 miles. Is it worth getting at that price?

I would not drive a 2WD diesel in the winter.

Agree. Im amazed at the difference it makes having 4wd. Just the other week i went out to 5 mile during a snow storm and was flat towing my jeep with my 05 f350. I pulled off the road and with alot of wheel spinning action in 2WD i made it up that slight hump into the 5MP parking lot. I then locked it into 4wd and had no issues after that going over that same hump.

I don't need this particular truck. But I have been looking for a diesel. I was just wondering if this was a really good deal or not. I am also shying away from it now. Especially since the guy seemed to be shady about it. I did love how the truck drove so I think when my truck sells I will be looking for one. I haven't driven any of the other brands yet.

Haha. I don't think the 2 are comparable. If you were comparing my 08 with the 5.7 I think you could try and compare them. Although yours would still pull more.

It is not very often that a question comes up that i can actually answer with some input and experience but, i can on this one.

First, there is no all wheel drive like others said.
Second, watch for symptoms of death wobble.
Third, these trucks are nothing short of awesome. But, to get them to that point you have to be willing to part ways with some factory equipment. H&S Performance is a company you will want to become familiar with.
I know you switch vehicles often. Do it right, and only do it once.

I am no longer picking up this truck due to the rwd. Seemed like an awesome truck other than that. He had full exhaust ran, had a chip that boosts it 250 hp but never installed, and the auto tranny was built. Even though it was a good deal, I had to pass.
