Is that vote number 2 for a not-memorial day BBQ at some point?

I advocate a non easter/memorial/labor day anything in Moab. Hands down the three worst possible times to go to Moab.

I'll be at Pastafari earlier in the week with plans to finish out the weekend in MOAB but on Friday we'll be camping at Hite Marina.

This always makes me chuckle. An event named in honor of the middling-on-its-very-best-day-ever food at Pasta Jay's.

Where do you camp at Hite Marina? Is there a KOA type thing down there past the gas station that I've never seen, or are you heading out to Blue Notch/Good Hope Bay?

Sure, theres a million other cool things we COULD do on Memorial day weekend. Just nothing quite as awesome as wheeling Moab, and being part of the bitchin' radicalness that is the RME bbq. Sounds like this year will be the best yet. Can't wait!!

Small update:

I believe we are going to make the land-use raffle "must be present to win" this year. Although we would probably sell more tickets opening it up to everybody, I think it will be a lot better if the people who show up get a chance at walking away with their prizes at the BBQ.

We will also be setting up a temporary land-use donation fund for anybody to donate to even if they won't be making it to the BBQ.

I NEVER win stuff, but last year I got a few things. Some shirts, hats, and a mini safe for firearms. If you get a few tickets you're bound to get something. Even if you don't, it's a great time.

We do the BBQ Memorial weekend because that is when most families have their three day weekends and kids are out of school so it's nice to have something fun to do and plan on that weekend.
