What say the RME faithful? My wife and I will have been wedded 20 years this Nov. Despite her being a "non-Jeeper", I still like her and we do have a great relationship and have built a cool life for each other.

Our anniversary is right around Thanksgiving, so I think we'll forget the kids at grandmas and bail for a couple of days after having some turkey. Has anyone got any cool hotel/resort ideas within a couple hours drive of Logan? Not sure I want to come back to SLC, but it's possible for the right idea? Neither one of us are big cold weather fans, but there's not a lot of choice under the two hour parameter from Logan (I was kind of thinking of a quick flight somewhere Bahama'sish, but flying is seriously a pain for less than 4-5 days in my perspective)

I say splurge a little and go to hawaii or the bahamas, or you can go to alaska and get her a day at a spa while you go out and get a moose or grizzley

I was going to suggest a stay at the Inn at Old Faithful in Yellowstone but I think they close at the end of October. You could always go to West Yellowstone, MT. I love it up there.

Airfare is the killer here because of the dates. I love DC It would be cheaper to take Jet Blue and go to DC then the Bahamas or Hawaii. You could go to the Holocaust Museum http://www.ushmm.org/
as well as the Smithsonian http://www.si.edu/

November makes it a pain. I was thinking St. George, Mesquite, Vegas, but I'm not sure I want to drive that far. Weather would likely be warmish, though.

Lava Hot Springs. Looks to be about an hour and a half from Logan. I love it up there.

Like that idea. Southern Idaho has never really been a "destination", but that's not really the purpose of this trip. We just need some "distractions" during the day. That could work well?

DC is awesome, but for three-four day trip, I'm not wanting to deal with flying. It's just to big of a pain in the ass nowadays. Add the Thanksgiving weekend factor and some weather, we would save some SERIOUS $ and pain-in-the-ass factor (tends to put a damper on other activities) by just driving somewhere away from the kids and family.

Jackson is three hours from Logan (at least from my memory?) and I suggested that.

Splurge. Take her to Sizzler and let her have a Coke. ;)

Coke's probably a little strong, but I'm thinking the evenings will be awesome with some root beer. Arbys and root beer will be plenty for this trip. :D

that's kind of the plan but I'd like to have a private pool as well

That's right up Spence's alley. I wouldn't expect anything less from him.... :D

Checked that out earlier. Apparently you guys liked it?

We like anniversary inn up there in logan. And I havent gone yet to the salt lake one but there are some neat rooms at that location ive seen online.

We stayed there 20 years ago. ;)

I think we'll be doing a "cool" adult trip again this next spring. Never been to Hawaii, so we're thinking that. Just don't have time/resources in the fall for that.
