I got an AFE 4" 409 stainless kit. It is pretty good in the quality department, it came with a 7" stainless Magnaflow. The straight sections of pipe were not flared enough and I ended up pounding on them with a board and finally cutting an inch off of one to get the thing together. I was very happy with the performance gain both in EGT and spool up, but the sound was nothing near what I was looking for.

After I ditched the muffler and put in a straight piece I picked up a rattle when stopped in gear. Turns out the mounting bracket at the transmission was bent wrong and made the downpipe sit very close to the frame.

After this problem, the fit problem and especially after seeing the quality of flare, tube (the replacement straight piece) and clamp that I got from Hog Performance, I would go with Hog if I were doing this again.

I didn't pay close enough attention with the Magnaflow to be sure, but it sure seems like it spools even faster straight piped.... seems to go from 0 to 20psi in about a second..... and more importantly I can now here the turbo through the air cleaner and through the tail pipe :greg:

Good to know.. I think they are comparable in price, too. I'll keep this in mind next time someone asks for advice which way to go....
