I'm not here to get into any of this arguement. I am a "noob" here and I only want information. I am really thinking about getting a front 60. Right now I have a 44 that I got from a ford, but I just dropped a 460 into to my truck. I have been running 35in tires, but now I have some 44in tsl boggers that have every other lug cut out. I have been told the dana 44 won't hold in the deep deep mud with that much power. My friend has a 60 from a chevy that I wanna swap in, but he also has another person interested, he wants $1800 for the stock axle, which I think is a really good price. I was going to get the axle, but your comments on lift have worried me. I can't give up any lift. The tires are really close to rubbing with the 13" lift I have. Could someone explain/clearify if I will loose lift or not. I just tried calling boyce, but they are closed and my friend wants an answer tonight.

I would recomend doing some google searching and site searching and not posting something like this in this section since it's only going to get lost in the middle of all the BS. You'll never get a good answer out of this thread. If need be, go to the General 4x4 discussion area and ask your questions where you will be able to get quality answers.

I'm not trying to be an ass, I am honestly trying to just point you in the right direction. This thread is not the place to try to bring in any tech.

I have search google, but I have not been able to get a answer. I was just hoping that some of these people in this thread could explain to me if I'm going to loose lift or not. Like I said, I can't afford to loose any lift. I'm just worried about loosing out on a sweet deal on this axle..

1. Save your money, $1800 for a stock chevy 60... you can buy 2 for that price.

2. You actually gain lift going to a 60 over a 44.

3. Ford axle, pinion on drivers side, Chevy axle, pinion on pass side.

4. Buy a Ford dana 60.

I don't understand, you say one thing and others say the opposite. which is it. I would like an explaination from both parties please. I normally wouldn't ask anyone to explain, but boyce is closed and I have to decide TONIGHT..
