the time has come for me to modify my bone stock 4runner into something alot more interesting than just "another 3.slo runner." so started pulling some money together went and picked up some 80 series coils for the back and a full front axle from a guy up in Logan. front leafs hopefully coming in the next few days as well.. last night we pulled the rear drive line off to see the pinion paint code so i could get the correct greats for my front axle which just have 4:10s in them form a 85 toyota pickup. and of course there was no paint to be found on the rear pinion pinion. so in the door jam i see the axle code G144 with a little bit more research we found that 4Runners that could have 4:88 gears from the factory were 92-95 3.0 models with an auto trans stock 31s and a tow package.
all of the following i DO have. so if that in fact is the case. that is kind of good or bad for me as far as the front axle. 4:88's are a good ratio for spinning 33's or similar tire sizes but a 4:88 3rd member might be a bit of a pain to find for the gearing in the solid front axle. tell me what you think
