I am curently running a T400 and 205 case in my 1976 blazer. I was wondering if I should have some sort of brace going from the tcase to the frame. There are 2 holes on the passenger side of the the 205. I heard that if you don't brace the tcase, you can crack the tail housing of the tranny.

Any info would be helpful,

thank you

I looked on my 85 1 ton that has the same combination and there is a brace that goes from the two holes on the 205 up to one of the tranny mounting bolts above the starter. I think I have a spare brace from an 86 1 ton. On my old 72 Chev that I used to have there was a bracket that went to the frame if I remember correctly.

Not sure wich year gose were, but some braces went to the trans as DaveB stated and others went to the engine mount. I dont think it matters either way but you should have one or the other.
