thats how that old warn black diamond lift would act for yj/tj's--except not quite so bad. I'm sure that picture is an extreme situation where the suspension is doing that, but it would seem that some modifications could take you from 'happy' to 'super duper stoked.com'

Okay, if you know what a four link looks like, start by invisioning that. Two uppers, two lowers, right? Now take the two uppers, and combine one end of them together, so they form a single link, in a V shape. That's a three link. seven mounting points instead of eight.

Billyray, how secure are you? I'd like you to post some better pictures of your 3 link. You may like the way it works, but based on your avatar pic it could work a lot better. This could be a good case study, if you are secure enough to take some criticism. If you don't want to post anything, I understand. Not a problem. From your avatar:

image.php

Your suspension geometry in the rear is causing your driver's side rear suspension to jack up. This is likely due to straight lower control arms, and too much anti-squat, though it's impossible to tell from this pic. This causes forced body roll, which unweights the front drivers side tire, causing the condition depicted in your avatar. I have seen this exact thing cause rollovers many times. This condition is not exclusive to three-links. I've seen it happen with four-links just as many (if not more) times. Even if it never causes a rollover, it will cause a loss of traction, and you will not be able to climb things that rigs with better geometry have no trouble with.
I have no problem with criticism, but the fact is that the obstacle i am in, my passenger side tire is sunk in a 4 ft hole where the drivers is about 3 ft above it, obviously that pic would depict that is whats going on,because I have never had problems with to much squat, and tires pulling up on one side or the other, but i dont know if you have been on that obstacle on prichett, ive watched numerous rigs try it, it does the same thing to a truck thats sprung. I am not bagging on 4 links with coilovers-airshocks, but some people dont have that kind of money at the time ( I know i didnt) but I know it is ten times cheaper to buy a couple of old bucket spring than to buy coilovers or airshocks, it definetly alot more work, its alot easier to mount a coilover or a airshock than it is to build mounts for coil springs, but i would be glad to post some pics. Or if you will be in moab i would be glad to show you it to you there. If you know milner ask him how the suspension is set up on skinny's jeep he has seen it, and said it is probably the best 3 link he has ever seen. I am new to the sight and i need to find out how to post pics on the board when i do i will post them. post back.

I would suggest if you have the money to do a 4 link with coilover or airshocks that would be the ticket. I will post some pics of my setup.

Yep, Skinny did good. Braden this is the rig we were looking at at the Autozone show a couple years ago. Sure it is not perfect, but what rig is? I was impressed with his setup. It is a good comprimise between space, money and geometry. It actually handles well on the street too ;)
