so looking to see what is out there... in a 33 inch tire with a 15 inch rim... and I went thru 100 pages on ksl and only saw a handful of 15 inch rims sizes... the ones that are there the tires are all 37 inch or taller or 245 and smaller....

It seems that now days everyone is going for either the 18 or 20 and even the 22 inch rim sizes... and there are still a ton of 16 inch rims and tires out there too...

So have I lost track of time and living in the glory days? has the 15 inch rim been silently killed off? or is it just so damn popular no one has any to get rid of?

Kinda of like you hardly ever see jk/tj/yj/cj in the junk yards... yet they are everywhere on the roads.... where do they go when they die?

I think everyone is still running them so they dont sell them off, perhaps? I for example am running that exact size and am often keeping an eye out for a single in good shape to use as a spare. But that's not very often I find one in good shape. But it does seem like 17" seems to be a more common tire nowadays.

16.5 is the rim size near extinction. That's what I have but only because of H1 beadlocks are too legit to quit.

I run that same size of tire also. When looking for a spare I stopped at big-o. They told me that " we can order them but, most car manufactures are going to bigger rims. there is no need to carry that size. We don't sell enough of them to make it worth the space."

I have a couple stock 15" jeep wheels with like new tires. One still has the little rubber stubble, never been mounted. Put an ad on ksl for essentially free, nobody wanted them. Granted, I only have 2 and they don't match, but for someone running stock wheels they would make a good matching spare. I know you are looking for tires, not wheels, but when tire places stop keeping 15" wheels/tires in stock and I can't give away essentially a brand new wheel and tire... Ya, 15" are becoming unpopular.

I think the 15" wheel size is slowly dying. I ordered some brand new KM2s in that size about a year ago, but they were tough to find. I think that's a great size for a 33. Just the right amount of sidewall.

Unless you're running 17's , 20's, or 22's, everything else seems to be metric, which is a shame because I'm too stupid to understand the whole metric thing (the ONLY time I don't love the metric system). People tell me they have 285s or whatever, and that means nothing to me. I always have to google the converter to convert it to inches.

You know what tire has gotten REALLY hard to find? a 35 or 37 in a 15" rim size. Aside from pitbull and interco, I don't know of anyone else that makes a 37" tire for a 15" rim.

I found several ads for 35 and 37 on KSL and even a few on here... not that hard to find the them...

discount had 2 sets of 33x12.50x15 km2's in stock for me. anything 35+ are getting harder to find in the 15" variety like steve said. luckily i have a girly front axle so it's not a concern of mine. i wish i had money to buy like 4 sets of 33x12.50x15 km2's on black wagon wheels and store them somewhere

don't store them too long, the tires start to rot sitting there. :( That's the main reason I don't buy used tires (unless they're "newer" used tires). That old rubber gets hard and stiff and doesn't behave like a new tire should. I feel your pain though, I've always wanted to stock up on tires when I learn that there are national backorders in certain sizes.

There was an interview with BFG in the last 4WDTO magazine, BFG said the 35x12.5r15 was still one of their best sellers. I wonder if it was a dated interview.
