I've decided to go to the v-8 side in my toy.At first I wanted to try to keep it all yota but what the hell.More power would be nice along with an auto
I've got a good running 360 with a rebuilt TF727 out of a 70's wagg.My question is what transfercase should I run?Does anyone make an adapter for the toy cases to mate to the TF727?

Why??? Ok, it's free..... You'll want more then Toyota for a transfer case with that much power, and you really wont need a crawler anymore with the auto. Sell the crawler set up, and go for a stronger T case......... Then, start shopping for 60's. :D

you can use the 208 with that 727, it's not a bad case damnit! lol

cheap way to go, and powerful enough. If you really get crazy the Klune box would probably work? Or an Atlas heheh. OR get a Jeep TH400, swap the tailshaft and use a Doubler kit. That can be a fairly cheap option for loooooow gearing.

let me know if you are going to sell your crawler gears. Once a toy guy, always a toy guy. If you want more power I would change your ring an pinions. some 5.29's worked well for me. 22re and 35 inch tires.

If you want to use a 203/205 doubler, keeping the 727 and using Dodge parts would be the easiest. All '76-'79, and most '74-'75, 4wd Dodges w/auto used 727's and 203's. If you'd rather use a 205/208/241, you can also do that with all '80+ Dodge 727 parts in your Jeep 727.

J&G Transmissions can get you the tailshaft. The 208 and adapter come from a military GM pickup. The adapter is a standard GM 6bolt circle, so you can use the 208 and it's 2.72:1 ratio while you save up for the Doubler stuff. Well, the Doubler adapter anyway, the actual cases are cheap eheheh.

Not sure what Boyce has them for, but I got my adapter and 208 in PA for $150. I'll be taking a look at specifics tomorrow if you need any more detailed information. I should have a price on the tailshaft and installation cost of it as well.
