So my HF grinder gave up. I am ready to pony up for better one, but I don't want to buy a gold one. What do you have and how much did you pay?

I have had good luck with my Dewalt..its the HD 4.5" one...I have heard the Milwaukees are pretty good BUT I used my Bro-in-laws and burnt it up the first night I had it (it was brand new, I was the first to use it)...I have been hearing good things about the Hitachi power tools but I still dont think I could trust a name like Hitachi just yet

I dont remember the arbor really, it was a while ago (it was while I was doing my D44/9" swap) but I do know the Makita use a weird arbor...we had one of those around my old shop and it never got used cause no one wanted to mess with the arbor (eveything else was Dewalt)

Between B and I, we have 1 dewalt an 3 BlackDecker HD's. They are the same grinder,different color, repair parts are the same. Replaced r/p in the dewalt and cords on ouple of the BD's.
I would stay with one of them!!!!
The new Home Depot ones have a good waranty though.
