40" Kevlars are LARGE. Just in case you were wondering.

The rear end looks real good. It looks like the front axle has to go forward a few inches to make the new shoes fit. Moving springs and steering is pretty easy on a YJ. 26.5" belly height is pretty tall though... and lowering a SOA YJ is more complicated. Overall Ride height is the reason I ended up linking mine.

Well, here's an updated pic and a solution. There's still a little trimming to do, but it's on the rear this time.

It looks like you went with a flat fender up front and then it also looks like you went with a different grill. More like the early to mid 40's GPW's or MB's or something like that. Are you still running the 40" MTR's or did you sell them and get a smaller size? Good job on the Jeep.

Yeah, I made some fenders that would clear during stuff. I had a YJ hood narrowed and I worked the crap out of it to make it "straight" (it's really not that bad but....). The MB grille ('41-'45 WWII jeeps) is about 4" narrower than a YJ grille so it's not as simple as it sounds to make it work.

Those are still the same 40" Kevlars. They're still HUGE but seemed pretty stable with the limited low range it saw today.

I'm glad he's in there. I'm 6' 0" and I'd hate to get in/out of that tire.

Jeep looks good Marc! I have been trying to figure out what you did to your Jeep, or if you sold the Wrangler and got a Willys or what! Now I know! I really like the blend of new and old and how you got the hood to blend into the grill, then that combined with the tube fenders, makes it really fit!
As for the MTRs, those are just some large tires! It is hard to believe they are only a 40! They look more like a 42! Jeep is looking good and I can't wait to see it again in Moab! Keep up the good work!:greg:
