I know you guys will know this right away so bare with me here.
I have an intermittent issue with my 1969 Chevy C30 454.
The coil is on the distributor cap and has two wires going in to it. One of them is 12V switched power to the ignition, the other wire is neither 12V nor ground. What is that wire? I'm assuming it is a ground but when I ground it we still have no spark. It could be that the coil has gone bad.
When I drove the truck out to Tooele to park it two years ago it would cut out briefly. Now I can't get it to start and it has no spark at all.
I just need to find out what the second wire is supposed to be. Once I know that I can test it and that will tell me if the coil is bad or not.
