For sure props for giving it the attempt. It looks like there was success running the trail. Some nice rigs pushing their limits.

I personally enjoy the challenge of having only one route. If I can't conquer it then I will make changes to my rig and try again the next trip. We have plenty of 2,3,4 rated trails but Constrictor is the only one I know of in the Utah/SLC valley that poses a challenge to most rigs, even those with 40's. That is the excitement, If you cant pull it off time to modify, cut, weld, lift, etc till you get your rig right.

I know the rocks are a cumulative effort over the summer. Just saying if I had a rig built for Constrictor I'd be breaking my back to pull all of those rocks out just to see if my mods work for a future Rubicon or Moab trip.

It is interesting to see the rigs built for specific areas. Rigs in Las Cruces NM seem to be longer a wb and have plenty of rocker guards for their waterfalls and Moab running vehicles have more A/t tires, Eastern states vehicles are more mud terrains and taller lifts for mud.

What are our rigs like?

Have they gotten more mild as the trails are more so?

wow, I cant imagine going to all that work of stacking rocks at eagles nest, I guess im just not that motivated to do an obstackle, if I cant do it without stacking rocks, Ill winch and leave it for a future challenge(something to aspire to). that said good job on cleaning up the trail, I was suprised at how some of the Cedar City trails were trashy a couple of weeks ago, ended up picking up a bunch of trash, and those trails are usually clean.

I noticed a huge diff when i moved to southern utah i grew up in utah county and built my samurai for 5 mile, af canyon, sf canyon. and i could go anywhere, but i came to cedar city and got my a** handed to me i use to run toyota akles now full width dana 44's, i was 90" now im 101", i had 35" tires now 37", i had leaf springs, now fox air shocks, i still struggle to keep up with the big dogs all my wheelin buddies down here are we rock competitors and i hate takin the easy way so im always pushin. I'd say it varies more then just east, west, types i think its the driver for the most part and how that person wheels and what kind of things they try and budget and street leagality makes a big diff mines trailer only and far from legal. id love to see how it does on the rubicon or los cruz or any east coast rec parks

Where are these trails in Cedar City? I'm putting together a list of "To Do" trails and they sound fun. I think if we all do our part to keep the trails clean, it will go along way, no matter where or what trail we are on.

I was on this trail a month or two ago and none of those rocks were there, I have noticed peole camping at the head of the rattlesnake and leaving tons of trash when they leave. I also pick up what I can find.

Preface: I have never been all the way to eagles nest.
Someone who has been up there a bunch, please chime in.
If there were only a few rocks (instead of a mound), would it be where it was years ago? It looks, from the angle of the pics, that a lot of rear tires have dug-out the base of the nest. This in turn would make the approach harder. So, have the rocks just returned it to its original state (if there wern't so freaking many)?

These were taken 2 years ago... Huge difference.. Notice the difference in the ground/loose rocks in the photo of Robby vs the TJ..

The rear tire carrier was built by Ben Hanks when he was at Mepco. Real happy with the job he did, but wasn't to happy when I went to pick it up and they tried to charge me 3X the price I was quoted, therefore I will not go back to Mepco or Tera Plus. I use to do alot of business with them until then.:( It was based off of the Poison Spyder carrier. At the time, they didn't make one for the CJ and had no interest in doing a one off.
