The rear tire carrier was built by Ben Hanks when he was at Mepco. Real happy with the job he did, but wasn't to happy when I went to pick it up and they tried to charge me 3X the price I was quoted, therefore I will not go back to Mepco or Tera Plus. I use to do alot of business with them until then. It was based off of the Poison Spyder carrier. At the time, they didn't make one for the CJ and had no interest in doing a one off.
Thats some crazy rock stacking ive never seen it like that im gonna take my sister toyota celica up it un assisted
Very true.. Rob's rig in that photo is good proof of that..
Its not even about what size tire it would swallow, rather it would completely stand a long wheelbase vehicle up on end.
That doesn't make sense. See pic. A short wheel base would stand vertical before a long wheel base would. The only disadvantage to the long wheelbase would be that it might get high centered when cresting the ledge. No, no, no... I mean it would stand a rig nearly vertical as in ready to go over backwards before the front tires were up on top of the ledge. There is a pic here on RME that I posted, can't find it right now...

AH i see.. How far back, documented with photos, does that obstacle go? Dig em out! I want to see the oldest photo of the Nest..
Where did we meet. I'm sure we have, but when you get older, they say the mind is the second thing to go. I did see the Eagle's Nest back when it started and yes there is ALOT of rocks stacked in the bottom. It would swollow 44's.
I see what your saying now. At first it sounded like you were saying short wheel bases had the advantage. haYour proving my point
If a long wheel base vehicle used to get stood up, then it was more than a short wheelbase could do.
2003 was the very first attempt, it was well documented here on RME. Do some digging.
...So, historically, the base has been getting shallower over the years? If that is the case, then people have been stacking rocks for a while now?... and this is just the worst its been?
