hasn't he (Bart/FTM) had a rough go of keeping the portals alive?? I know they narrowed the axles, not sure if that has something to do with the short life span (portals not squared to the inner) or not???

He has, poor dude has horrible luck... Even went as far as building a whole new rear axle to try to fix the problem, but looks like he's still breaking em.

He's a dick and you all know it.

I haven't found a system yet to make the brakes work well, but I haven't been able to keep a rear axle together either. I've got the big 4 piston Willwood calipers, and running Willwood masters. I have been running flex lines and am going to switch to hard lines for most of the system before SuperCrawl.

BTW, love the project. Thinking of building something similar for my son in a couple of years.

Good luck.

Look`s cool!
Get a Chevy hydroboost ! I never had a problem with my disc brakes on my mog axle`s ! Forget about that willwood stuff. Those brakes you got stops a 8000lbs vehicle with 44s easy, if you use the correct master-booster !

here it is with the 42's frame cut from cab back and rear 4 link half done (I am working on getting the uca mount on frame side built so it has adjustable anti-squat) this is my first full build so it is taking twice as long as I plan this is mostly just a teaser photo but it gives a idea of what it will look like, I have to go higher on the ride hight becuse that front pinon is still a little close to the oil pan frame hight is 23" right now.

So, are you in Lindon or Lehi? I live in Orem and would love to come check this out. I'm thinking seriously about building a Willys for my son.

I did some work on my pile what do you think?? it is just tacked and still need to be boxed.

It's looking great! Are those 16" Air Shocks?

You probably have plans for this, but I'd suggest heavilly gusseting the upper bracket on the frame end.
