Marc, did you find one with 4.30 gearing?

I'm pretty sure it's a 3.73 truck. For what I'm in it, I'll change the gears if I need to. :D

Decent truck. Corbin got a loan for his half of it so he could build some credit.

We are looking for some "cool" 10"ish 8 x 170mm wheels if someone knows of a set of four. I have two sets of three wheels for this truck. :D One of the reasons we got it cheap.

I'm not sure how I feel about the "wake up" perf. mods on a truck with 210k. Exhaust mods could be good. There are some really "interesting" bends in the factory exhaust. The hitch has very little use and the truck seemed to be used as a mobile stereo more than anything else.

I'd like to hear your impressions on the V10 and the truck overall. I have thought about selling our 7.3 for a newer V10.

You're more than welcome to come check out it's towing performance. I need to work on my trailer brakes next Sat. I'll be test towing with the truck on/off all day Sat. (when I'll have time next) I'm hoping it's in the same category as the 32 valve 5.4 in the LIncoln. If it is, I'll be pretty happy with it as I KNOW the chassis doesn't mind towing. The 7.3L Super Duty I had before LOVED to have a trailer on.

I am really not all that brand loyal. Just got lucky when I found my 99 f 250. I would be quite interested in the improvements that would surely happen on a Chevy 6.0 or an 8.0 litre. with headers and good exhaust. I suspect the stock exhaust on an 8.0 is partly to blame for there dismal mileage numbers. My next change will be installing a trans command. I am considering lower gears it currently has 3.73 s . It does great with 265 size tires but they are ugly on such a long truck.

I'm struggling with the same thought process now. Janeal hates the rear seat of my PSD Super Crew. The seat is small and there are times when we need one. She wants me to sell the truck and the Volvo (which is now my dd) and get something with 4 real doors and that can tow our boat. I just don't know if I want to drive something that gets 12mpg around town all the time.

If you want something with a nice large comfortable back seat, take a look at the Tundras. Not quite a full-size but plenty large enough to yank around a good sized boat or a rig on a trailer. The back seats in the Tundras will even recline a bit. I got around 13 mpg if I drove it like I normally drive (on the gas all the time, the power in those is quite fun) but I could get 15-17 if I was careful.
