60" wide Dana 44 for YJ

A friend of mine wants to upgrade from his Dana 30 in his YJ to a 44, wants to keep it close to factory width and be able to retain the factory spring under setup.

He's been looking at FSJ Dana 44's but we were talking about other possible options like narrowing a wider axle.

Anyone have any input on a good axle choice? Driver drop, D44 with SUA, 60" wide.

Grand Wagoneer from the last years of production, roughly 61 inches wide, driver drop, spring under. Don't remember the spring perch width. They are 6 lug and also have a nice centered rear 44.

Yeah that’s definitely the easiest candidate for what your wanting.
