WHat a fetchin nightmare!!!!!
So I finally get the call that the turbo showed up about noon today. Went to get it and it was a junkyard special. Looked almost as bad as the one I pulled off. I cant believe he paid 500 bucks for it!!!!
So I get it home and its not even close. Come to find out its for a early 99 so it wont work for my 03. Back to the dealership. This whole time Ive been telling them I can get a reman from Ron in West Jordan for 500 with a 2 year warranty. So he finally tells me to go get it and he will reimburse me for it.
So I got home from Rons about 7 and started bolting it back together. Got done about 10 and decided to change the oil to. Just drove it around for awhile and its working great!
I just went with the stock replacement.
So....as long as I get a check for the turbo, it only cost me a couple cans of brake cleaner and a full day of chasing parts. I probably spent 6 hours actually wrenching on it. It was a little easier than I expected and Im glad I did it myself.
Hopefully I dont have to do anything to this truck for a long time now!

Ron said the bolts inside backed off of my turbo and caught the wheel so it couldnt spin. Isnt that just special! So I probably could have just got a new wheel and rebuild kit and been fine but Im not paying for it!
