Apparently I need a catalytic converter to pass Davis county diesel emissions test. Any suggestions on a 'high flow' unit???

I was hoping my kitty would "fall off" and run away sometime soon, but since I now live in Davis county I guess I better rethink that.
If I were you I would do a bit of research and make sure yours came with a cat from the factory. I have read on the web that auto's in '99 didn't have a cat and manuals did. I don't know for sure. All I know is my '99 manual has a cat and I wish it didn't. I know sometime after '99 Ford did away with the cat. Maybe you have an inspector with incorrect info? You can't possibly need one to pass the physical test said above it's just for the visual test.

My 99 auto did not come with a cat. It's an early 99 in fact; build date of oct 98.

Ironically enough, the pipe I used to "delete" my cat was a stock piece from Ford for a '99 SD

The delete pipe is sold by F*rd and is called an "Intermediate pipe" I priced it a few years ago and was around $100.

my auto 99 f250 of 10/98 had a cat, and a muffler, turns out I needed one, (a muffler, cat didn't matter, I just needed a sound deadening device, and the turbo wouldn't cut it) for a utah county safety inspection, emissions didnt matter (it's the last year for diesel emissions in the UC anyway ).
