Most failures I had were planets and one of the pencil sized imput shafts. Stony of hydromatic fame, yes he was over the division for GM. Was the one that recommended towing in D.

Well for what it's worth, I've used Freeway transmissions for the last 15 years in my race and off road vehicles. Tacoma, since you know so much about proper adjustments and the limitations of a stock 700r4, perhaps you learned from your own experience why they fail. I know of lots of people on this forum who have had good luck with their transmissions. no need to be sarcastic.
