What can anyone tell me about the Dana 44 out of a 79' dodge ramcharger. Is it any good? I heard they were an all time 4 wheel drive. What does that mean?
Unit bearings or hubs? Could be either, if it has hubs and the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern it would be a good one.
Small bolt pattern and unit bearings, other than that it's a normal Dana 44. It will also have flat top knuckles if you want to do crossover.
Remember you need to properly lubricate the wheel bearings, to do so remove the wheels, and use the access hole in the hub to find the grease zerk on the unit bearing and pump the grease in, it's that easy.
Here's a little more info. http://ramchargercentral.com/index.php?action=articles;sa=view;article=67
Serviceable unit bearing...? Cool!
