so i think my clutch is going out im not quite sure? it is very hard to get it into gears. and when its in first it rolls forward with the clutch pedal to the floor. so im asuming its the clutch. i had to drive across town in second gear last night quite an ordeal haha. i read another post about this but is there any reason i shouldnt get a Luk from autozone? any opinons? or is Luk a good choice?

It probably is the clutch, but before you drop the transmission you should check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder. Toyotas are notorious for having the clutch masters go bad. If it's bad, you will have fluid leaking down the firewall, on the inside. If the fluid is indeed low, pull the carpet back at the very top & check for wetness.

You can rebuild or replace the clutch master cyl, either ne is cheap & easy.

Besides that, I can't help ya. I've never dealt with a Luk clutch. Good luck on the fix!

Greg, i think you just made my day. it was way low i while back so i filled it and now there is fluid on the fire wall... and on my carpet. but the fluid is still up in the resivor so this is a sign of a bad master cylinder?

A bad one should be leaking any new fluid you add, slowly. There's a chance you have air in the system and that's what's stoping your clutch from working properly.

I'd say you ought to replace/rebuild the master cylinder & bleed the whole system very well. It might take you an hour & cost around $30-40, but that's nothing compared to a clutch.

Glad to help!
