So, I'm doing an SAS on my '88 toy with the 3vze. I've bought trail-gears IFS eliminator kit, but I have a question that maybe you can answer.

the kit comes with spacers to make the 85 and under toy axle the same width as the rear. As I understand you can also do a hub conversion from the SA hub to the IFS hub and gain a couple inches in width.
Anyone done the hub conversion?
I've found a couple links on pirate on the conversion...seems like it'd be stronger, but alot harder...
whadya think? spacers or conversion?

Don't you have to run the IFS rotor kit like sky sell's? It seem's safer to run the spacer's this way to get the same width as the rear.
I have marlin's 1.5's on my front and they work well.If you use the spacer's that came with the kit ,loctite the stud's get'm tight and check them from time to time,You dont want your wheel's flying off.

I had both. Wide and vented kit uses your IFS hubs and rotors, and then I had 2" spacers and my wheels had 3.5" of BS. Worked well for 5+ years of DD use.

using both how wide are you? seems as though that'd be too wide.

how much time did it take you to swap hubs, rotors, and calipers?

Not long to swap, no harder than a standard rebuild on a frontend. I don't remember the width, but I had 2" spacers on the rear also and it was still narrower.

Definately not too wide, I've since gone to a 67" dana 60 and its just right:D
